Part 2 (The Battle For Your Mind) Definition: CARNAL = 1.) Pertaining to flesh; fleshly; sensual; opposed to spiritual; as carnal pleasure.
Romans 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. Romans 8:7a Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 [4] (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) [5] Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Today we continue where we left off Saturday. We will search the Scripture and answer Paul’s question above, “but how to perform that which is good”. We see clearly in the Scripture above, the battle we have as Christians is in our MINDS. Every day we live, the war is either WON or LOST in our MINDS. If we as Christians, allow our flesh to rule our lives we end up being fleshly, defeated, CARNAL Christians. Notice above, Paul says, “the carnal mind”, “casting down imaginations”, these imaginations or IMAGES start in our mind. Then Paul says, “bringing into captivity every thought” to “be ye transformed by the renewing of your MIND”! There is a clear message from the Scripture here…we as Christians win the battle of our flesh in our minds, through the power of God! We are not able to thoroughly cover this subject in one devotional, but we will with the Lords help expose the devil over the next few devotionals. It is no accident that pastor preached on Sunday night about how the devil is persecuting the church. This thought has been on my heart for several weeks. When as Christians, we walk too close to the world; when we become fleshly and carnal, it not only hurts our individual walk with Christ and our families, it also destroys our worship, which hinders the church. Carnality is OPPOSED to spiritual things. It is my prayer that someone reading this knows…the STRONG HOLDS in your mind can be pulled down! The imaginations or images can be cast down! We can be victorious! We can see Revival, even in this carnal, wicked world! Today, don’t conform, but be transformed, be renewed in your mind that you may know HIM more! Hallelujah!!!
