Sept. 16 Devotion: He Did All!

He Did All!

Genesis 6:22 Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.

When was the last time you had instructions on how to do something but didn’t follow them because you thought you knew what you were doing? I’ll admit sometimes those things work out, but more often than not they turn out to be a failure. Now think about times when you’ve given someone instructions on how to do something or something you needed done and then they don’t follow them. It is beyond frustrating. It’s even more frustrating when they come to you complaining about how something didn’t work out and you so bad want to just grab them by the head, shake them, and say, “ If you would’ve done what I told you then it would’ve worked!” I wonder if God ever thinks the same thing? Our text verse comes after Noah is instructed on how to build the ark. The Bible tells us he did ALL that the Lord had commanded of him to do. I can’t help but wonder if he had put one board out of place what would’ve happened? I also wonder how much do we do what the Lord has commanded of us? There are many things that we can easily pull out of Scripture that we are commanded to do that applies to all of us. What about when it comes to His will for you personally? Are you doing all that God has commanded of you? You see people today want to do the least they can to get by in their daily lives. How much of that has bled over into our Christian walk? Do we find ourselves not obeying ALL that God has instructed us to do and then complaining when it all doesn’t work out? We hear the phrase spoken as well as sung in songs: “All gave some, but some gave all.” Which part of that best describes you?

God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
