Are You Calling God A Liar?
Psalm 40:9-10
[9] I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O Lord , thou knowest. [10] I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation.
We see here David talking about God’s righteousness and faithfulness! He just preached the truth. I can only speak about our church, but we’ve had and have preachers that stand before us and preach the truth. Question is do we believe they are telling us the truth?
God has given many people the ability to learn and discern many things in this world.
We believe meteorologists know the weather and will plan accordingly. How many more could have perished in recent hurricane had they not evacuated?
We believe doctors know what’s best for our health. We will take medicine they prescribe to us in order to get us or keep us healthy.
We believe dietitians know how we should eat and what’s best to put into our bodies. If they tell us it will make us healthier then we will try it
We even believe crazy simple things like sports experts. If they talk up our favorite team then we believe they will have a great season.
It comes down to the fact that if someone tells us or shows us something that is a benefit to us, or keeps us safer then most times we will follow those things.
Do we then believe the preacher? The man of God will study and seek God on our behalf. He will then stand before us, and preach to us what God has given him. One message, in a congregation of many, will speak to each individual with a purpose to help each person. A message sent to us to help us! Yet, we heed not to His Word. We will believe and follow instructions from many people and places in this world, except for the preacher and his message from God. Why? Do you think the preacher would lie to you? The true men of God that stand before us get their message from God. Therefore, our problem or our disobedience is not to the preacher, but to God. Henceforth, if we don’t believe it’s what is best for our lives we are calling God a liar and that He don’t know what’s best for us.
Ask yourself today:Do I listen and follow direction of things of this world more often and better than I do God?
God bless you today!
