Sept 20 Devotion: Carpe Diem

Psalms 118:24 “This is the day which the Lord has made: …”

Carpe Diem. Latin for “Seize the Day.” The Lord made today, and in his omnipotence he made this day with opportunities for you to lay up treasures for the Kingdom of Heaven.

Yes, surely today there will be adversity or trials. Such is life. But God knew those impediments would present when He made this day. You can either let the day seize you, or you can seize the day.

Seize the day! Each time the Lord allows the sun to rise in the eastern sky it is an opportunity for you to seize the chance to: 1) Lead someone else to Lord!; 2) Let you Light illuminate the darkness of the World; and, 3) Live as a vessel of honor fit for the Master’s use.

The Apostle James tells us to take no thought for tomorrow. God made today for you to be busy about the Father’s business. So be excited at that opportunity and be filled with joy that God gave us one more day to tell the world that Jesus Saves!

Your fellowservant in Christ, Bro. Jordan Foster
