What Season Fits You?
Genesis 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
Based on the calendar this past Saturday we changed seasons to Fall. It truly did bring a true feel of fall as it was a cool, damp, and dreary day. We look at different types of weather and associate those with each season. If you was to look at those seasons, where would your current Christian walk with God fall?
Springtime brings a refresher of sorts, as well as things anew. Think back to when you were first saved and how just everything seemed different.
Do you still look at things with the same type of excitement as did then?
Spring leads into summer where all we think is it’s hot! Can you look back to a spot in your life where you were on fire for God? Why aren’t you still there? We have those times that we were ready to charge hell with a water pistol. We were ready to do whatever God wanted us to do. Then over time we just lose that fire. Many things can lead to that happening, just like fall.
Fall can be hot and sunny one week, and then cold and damp the next. We don’t typically lose our fire overnight. We allow the world to affect us. Then we too are up one week, and down the next. If we take our eyes off God we allow the world to have a greater affect on us than it should. This point of our life not only has us up and down, but also in and out. People who used to never miss a service begin missing. Missing a few leads us to missing more and more. Then over time that fire has not only been quenched, but we just become cold.
Which brings us to winter. Have you ever looked outside during winter, seen how bright the sunshine is, but you know it’s freezing out. On the outside we can look wonderful. People can attend church, dress right, and talk right, but be cold to the things of God. Not be faithful to study or prayer. Just be cold hearted to God!
Ask yourself today where you are spiritually. Examine your heart today and see which season you would fall under.
God bless you today!
