Why Do You Love Him?
Psalm 116:1-2
[1] I love the Lord , because he hath heard my voice and my supplications. [2] Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.
We see here the writer talks about why they love the Lord. It should encourage us that The Word tells us God is no respecter of persons, so if He hears this writer’s prayers then He also hears ours. However, I want to focus on the “because.” He gives his reason on why he loves the Lord.
Before even asking why, you must first answer if you do at all. We are quick to claim we love Him, but are actions can contradict that. How can we say we love Him, but not read His Word, attend services to worship Him, or talk to Him in prayer.
Now if you love Him, why? I can think of so many reasons to love Him. The struggles He has helped me get thru, the prayers He not only hears, but answers. I think of the many blessings He has given me:my family, my health, a job, a great church family, wonderful friends. He has truly blessed me with more than I ever could’ve imagined. I think for me personally though the greatest thing is that He gave His life for me!! When I think about the fact that He knew I’d fail Him, and yet He loves me enough anyway that He gave His life for me!! This is a thought that always gives me hope. No matter how bad a day can be I always have these verses to hold onto:
Romans 8:17-18
[17] And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him , that we may be also glorified together. [18] For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
We have hope!
Why do you love Him?
