Sept 30 Devotion:Holy Ghost Fire

“Holy Ghost Fire”

Psalm 85:6 Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee? Psalm 138:7a Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: Isaiah 57:15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place , with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. Habakkuk 3:2 O Lord , I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O Lord , revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy. Isaiah 2:10-11 Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, for fear of the Lord , and for the glory of his majesty. [11] The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day. Oh that we might once again see Holy Ghost Fire from Heaven! In our homes and churches, in our daily conversations, in the streets of our cities! Our Pastor, on Thursday brought us a devotional on “Strange Fire,” and we see how the Lord was displeased and brought judgement when we offer up man made fire and call it worship! Today, we see man made fire called worship, called Christian, called “CONTEMPORARY“, this strange fire and ungodly fire has all kinds of names. We see this idea that man under direction of the devil himself, has come up with many ways to REPLACE or COUNTERFEIT real Holy Ghost Fire with man-made fire. We see in our churches today, as long as the name CHRISTIAN is put to it, they claim it is spiritual, when in reality it is strange, ungodly fire that will NEVER bring true revival and Holy Ghost Fire!

Let us change the theme now! If we are ever going to see Holy Ghost Fire, as we see above in Isaiah 2:11 “the Lord alone must be exalted”! My friend, whenever God comes forth in his great power, with fire from heaven, His name alone is exalted. We recall when the Church gathered in the upper room in

(Acts 1) and prayed with all its members being of one heart and of one soul, and the Lord revealed His grace by the baptism of the Holy Spirit. When there was heard the sound of the rushing mighty wind in (Acts 2). When they began to speak as the Spirit gave them utterance, and thousands were added to the Church. That was a day when the Lord alone was exalted! Was there any whisper on that day of honor to be given to Peter, or to John, or to James, in the Church of God? No my Christian friend, the name of the Lord was very precious to His people that day. They gave glory to the Lord both in the temple and in their own houses, eating their bread with gladness of heart.

Oh that HE would revive us again, that sinners would be saved, that our nation would turn back to HIM! Even though we walk in the midst of trouble, war, famine, earthquakes and devastation; we can still rejoice and may Jesus be exalted! That in the midst of these days, that the “One who inhabits eternity”, the “High and Lofty One” the One who sits in a holy place and whose name is HOLY, that HE would revive the work and show us His Majesty and Glory! Hallelujah! My dear Christian friend, today would you humble yourself, enter into the Rock, and seek His mercy and grace for the sake of the lost and our nation. Tomorrow, in God’s house and all over our nation, may Holy Ghost Fire in great power come forth and may Jesus alone be exalted! Bro. Lawrence Longworth Isaiah 61:1″the opening of the prison to them that are bound;”
