2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
Two verses that we refer to when discussing the importance of studying God’s Word. Today I want to look at not just the fact of studying, but studying it all. We find it easy to study again the things we already know something about. However, we should make sure we TRULY study those things, and not just take for granted we already know it all. Never rely on what a preacher said or what you have just been taught growing up. Make sure to study and rightly divide on your own. Make sure you understand why you believe what you believe. Too often we only look at familiar stories but won’t study new topics or scripture because we think it’s too hard to understand, think it’s something just for the preacher, or maybe we don’t see the benefit in learning more. Our text verse 16 tells us all scripture is profitable. There is no scripture we should be scared of. If it is something that you might not know anything about then ask God for wisdom and understanding before you get started in it. If we seek to learn more, then God will show us those things we desire to learn more about. We should always want to learn more. We have no idea how what we study today could be a benefit to us tomorrow. I leave you today with a simple question. Do you know more about God’s Word today than you did this time yesterday? May God bless you today!! Bro. Josh Richardson
