Feb 20 Devotion: Oh, What A Savior!!!

Hebrews 7:25-28

25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

26 For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

27 Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.

28 For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.

The word “uttermost” is defined as full-ended, completion, and in no wise. When Jesus saves someone, he does it completely, as far as it can be done, to the point where in no wise can anything be added to it to make it better or more binding. It can be understood as an infinite, eternal transaction. (That is why he calls it everlasting, eternal life.) There are no details left out, because the payment is complete and meets all the requirements of the eternal Judge. Those that Jesus Christ saves do not need a refresher, an update, or an installment plan. It is paid in full. When you receive Christ, you have received all you need. He is your advocate, your High Priest, your intercessor, your kinsman redeemer, your Lord and Savior. There is nothing that can override or overwhelm his position. He cannot be tricked, blindsided, or defeated. When he said, “It is finished” (John 19:30) his full payment was made and through the resurrection, his payment was sealed for the wages of sin (death) had been conquered and the payment accepted by the Father. When the Father (the final Judge) declares someone forgiven, pardoned, redeemed, reconciled, and cleansed, then there is no one or nothing that can change that positional judgment. No one or nothing can take us out of the Father’s hand. No one or nothing can supersede what God has declared to be final. We are not saved to the partial most (my word invention) but to the uttermost. We are not saved to the temporary most (my word invention) but for all of eternity. OH, WHAT A SAVIOR!!!
