June 29 Devotion: Light

Light

Psalm 18:28

For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.

The problem with the world today is that they are not looking to God to find enlightenment. They are looking within or from around them. We see in our verse that this is a personal light. It says that the Lord will light my candle. We need to look in the Bible for the answers to the problems we are facing daily. The word of God is powerful, it has lost no power, it's described as a candle. A candle is a small thing, but it will light the whole room that it's placed in. It will overpower all the darkness that's in that room. The purpose of the light of God is to bring us into light. The Lord will light my candle. The desire of God is for everyone to see him more clearly than ever before. The light of God is so powerful, that when we come in contact with the light of God it will attach itself to you, and you will become the light of the world. Then the world will see the light of Jesus in your life.
